Anybody know if the hurricane had any effect on the river? Its only a month away so was just wondering!

it may for the next few days or a little while longer, but can't see how it will affect a derby a month away.

You not fishing the derby on the Red? It may be smaller weights, but should still be a solid derby. Stay safe out there everyone.

It's fine at least in pool 5. We got lucky as the storm moved east and spared us 10-12" of rain.

I was on the river today crappie fishing. Water level is fine but oxbows are stained along with main river. If you been before better forget what you remember and take it easy. Running out of red river south there is a floater right before the bottle neck. Do not dredge is dang near choked out from lily pads and big sand bar (not sure you can even get in) but use extreme caution when trying to enter any of the oxbows that river has changed alot since the floods.

I wouldn't be worried about that storm. I would be concerned about the two more coming on the horizon before the tournament! Good luck to those that qualified (and will actually show up)... My guess is that turnout will be quite a bit lower than the last time they were on the Red.
