Doesn't bother me at all. It’s like losing golf balls - I ain't married to none of them.

I don't mind losing them to rocks, branches (in and out of water) or stumps. That's where fish live so I'm going to lose a lure or twelve casting to them. I do hate losing a lure in a fishes lip when she breaks me off. Last week I had a nice bass break off my 4 lb test (I was fishing for big Bluegill) when I tried to lip her instead of netting her.

I painted a bunch of blanks so that doesn't hurt much but, my go to lures are older models and some are discontinued and in terrible shape but the fish keep tearing them up. Those are the ones that have me climbing out of the boat to retrieve. I haven't lost a good one lately.

I've learned the hard way that a lure is much cheaper to be buying than trolling motor props..lol
Now that's the truth... and something I need to keep in mind! I just hate to lose a perfectly good lure. I remember when $5 - $8 was a lot of money. I try to buy them on sale or a few every month or assemble my own.

I don't like loosing plugs and other hard lures but I haven’t lost many since I bought a water dog lure retriever.

I just really hate to retie for any reason. Too hard to see these fine lines with my old eyes.

Depends on the lure. I make my own jigs so not a big deal if I lose one. Some crankbaits I’m pretty attached too and spinnerbaits too. If I lose them, I’m bummed. Others, not so much. Expensive swimbaits, I get very sad and angry and then remind myself that it’s all part of the game. Then I curse a bunch, sulk, and cry like a Frenchman in a thunderstorm. But I feel better after catching another fish or two and convincing my wife I need of buy several replacements.
