Gato Azul, Next Time you see Charlie Brown make sure You tell him I said Hi. He makes some Dang good bait and he knows how to find those Choke Canyon Catfish. The last time he had some bait for me I didn't have the cash, and the time I had the cash He didn't have the bait. I'll be getting a gallon or so sooner or later.
Be safe.

j.steve, In my opiniom: Danny Kings (DK)= Channels
Sure Shot:= Blues Remember, just my opinion, I'm deffinately NOT an expert and have used both for a reasonable period of time on several differant waters. Seems that way for a lot of folks. I have 2 spots I use floating jugs on Whitney in less than 10' of water in the heat of the day and catch 5:1 blues over channels. Not big mind ya. Most are in the 2-4# class. Only thing smaller are those danged old double finned juvenile channels. Man those suckers seem to stick me half the time!

Thanks Hooker! I found the website and printed out the order form. I hope I use up the whole gallon fast!
Michael: How do you know Charlie? I assume from both of you guiding at CC? I haven't seen him in a while. Will send you a pm.

Sure Shot:= Blues Remember, just my opinion, I'm deffinately NOT an expert and have used both for a reasonable period of time on several differant waters. I agree. I seem to catch a lot more channels on DK than blues. This is why I don't use it. It is an awesome bait, but I just prefer to catch blues over channels. I have used Sure-Shot quite a bit, and I seem to catch a lot more blues on it. I have caught a few channels with it, but not like DK. I still prefer fresh shad or perch cutbait to punchbait. When fresh bait is hard to get, punchbait is definitely my next choice.

Hey, thanks peej: I've known about using old stockings like that, but never tried it. Next time my wife has a "run" on one, I'll transfer it from the trash can to my tackle box. Any particualar shape and size you cut in into, like one inch squares?
Last time out to Choke Canyon I used some chicken liver I had soaked in garlic powder and it seemed to work well. I used Kahles and didn't have much trouble keeping it on the single hook. I took a tip from some folks and cut it up using scissors instead of a knife, then threw in the garlic. The scissors made a difference. I still have some left, so I'll do the stocking thing next time. Sounds like that might work even for a jug line since the throwbacks can't be stealing it. Thanks!
