Brent good luck on your purchase, there are plenty of SMALL impoundments with in 75-100 miles of the DFW metromess that is very fishable, Purtis Creek, Bonham, Coffee Mill, etc. and even the portion of Hubbard your talking about. I would pay close attention to the skier on that side of the lake as well. The Red/White sky boat that is there about every other day throws one hell of a wake 2-3 foot might be an understatement. So now that you have a boat "GO RIP SOME LIPS" I think I know the boat you are talking about. I don't understand why anyone would ski around all that timber. I saw one guy sling his son within 10-15 feet of a no wake buoy. He did this many times. You would think they would go to a larger part of the lake instead of an area with a park/ramp setup for kayaks, paddle boats and jon boats. Like I said before the park I launch from is called "Paddle Point".

don't forget about Fairfield - that lake will most always have good fishable water for ya.
