Focused on largemouth today. We had permission to get onto some private property to cast under structures that we couldn't reach from the boat. It was tough getting any LMB but we scratched in a few. I used the Googan Slim Shake green pumpkin pearl on a shaky head. I dragged it at a snails pace across the bottom and eased it over every obstacle. I would let the fish have it for about 3 seconds before using a full force hook set. My Dad used a Berkley Powerbait 7 inch Pumpkinseed fished the same way. The LMB didn't seem to have a preference. It was so hot that we went into one of the swim areas and got in the water to cool off. After we changed clothes and ate we tried a few more hours. I got two, my brother got one and I got one. The good news is they were all pretty decent for this lake.

Well done. I think this is the first report that I have seen from there.

Agreed. You don't hear much about this lake. EVER!

Two reasons I can think of it's not as close as Choke if you are coming from SA, and just a short distance down the hwy. you can be at the coast where catchin is a little easier.

Just one more cast!

Do they have panfish or catfish? I might take a trip down there in a month or two.
