a good phone?

I'd like to know too. Its half the price of the next level.

I've got 128 GB version. I got it because I like to carry it in my shirt pocket and didn't want the huge screens on the latest version. I've had zero issues with mine. I think the internals are the same as the 6.

My 6 was run over and had no choice but to replace. Store I went to was out of the SE so I ended up with an XR. Several at the store told me the internals of an SE are the same as an XR but the camera was not as good. After a period of time I was offered the opportunity to "downgrade" to the SE and save about $300+.

I had one for a few years and it performed well. If you are alright with a little smaller screen I would recommend it for sure.

I have the original SE , I love the size , 4 in screen . The new SE is a little bigger , 4.7 in, I will have to do a pocket test to see if it fits.
No plans to upgrade at this time , however,

If you don't want or need to latest and greatest and have ATT you can go to the ATT store and get a Gophone. We have done that numerous times and they just load you plan to it once you buy it outright. I think the cheapest iPhone for Gophone right now is the 7S and it is $199.

Loved my original SE....i much prefer that size phone. The new one is the same size as a 6/7/8.....so zero reason to upgrade from my 7. Shame too, I'd pay to go back to the 4" screen.

yes i dropped my i phone 7 in the lake and bought a se, its a no brainer, it is the same phone were used to with the modernized speed and tech inside it and is only 399....

SE 2nd Gen has same chip as the 11 Pro and the camera is same as the XR. Battery life suffers a little on the SE as it's obviously smaller. Other than the battery, it's a great phone for the price.
