Fished Fayette today with my oldest grandson (Lennon), but you can call him "Little Vogey". Got his butt up at 3:45 AM & we were on the water a little before sunrise. We fished until 2:00 pm when it hit 99 degrees. Water temp was 92-94 and the winds were on & off all day. We hit 8 different spots & ended up with 237 sunfish & 1 tiny bass. All fish caught on Gulp Alive 1" minnows using the drop shot method.(#6 hooks & 1/8 oz weights.) We also ran into TomRom who was giving those sunnies heck. They are doing lots of work making improvements at both Park Prairie & Oak Thicket...I have NEVER seen the bathroom this clean...Good stuff ...

Nice job guys. Yeah Steve it was hot out there for sure. I fished 4 places and got into them pretty good as well. It did not seem to matter what I was fishing with they were hitting. I hope to get back out there soon. A few of the early morning bass guys got off the water early. I did talk to one boat around 12:30 that said they had not had a hit since shortly before 8. I left them biting at 1:30. I did mark several schools of shad that had bigger fish right below them but I did not try to see if I could get any takers.

Excellent report Grandpa !! You and Little Vogey caught 237 perch today and I made 40 pounds of breakfast sausage. The world is in balance !

Tom...I talked to a bass guy also at the ramp & he asked me if there were really any fish in here ? I think he was "skunked". He said he normally fishes Decker, but thinks they are spraying the hydrilla now, so he wanted to give Fayette a try.

Doc...I am holding my breath until I can get a pound of that breakfast sausage !

Bill...I do not fish the Perch Jerker tournament they have held out there. Also, have not heard if they are even having one this year...maybe cancelled due to the pandemic ?

Laker...did not fish for Ros this trip...kind of steered clear of the rocks this time...mostly fished open water with a little time in the timber.

Vogey you sure got my attention! I may have to see if I can get into those soon.
