Family is everything! Life is precious. We donโt have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

My boss' dad is a bestie with a estate sale company. I've been to a few that were here and they seemed legit. Got my garage beer fridge from one. They post lots of pics and details on eastatesales . com. I don't remember their name. I'll talk to him tomorrow and PM you the details. I by no means endorse or vouch for them. I'll just put you in contact with them. The few times I've talked to them they've seemed to be a good.

I did this for my Mother in Law's house a few years ago. Go to estatesales.com and look up a few names. The fee they charge is somewhat negotiable but some want as much as 40% of profits. They will then come out and estimate the value of the contents of your home. If there are not a lot of antiques, guns, jewelry, etc, don't expect much. They lower the estimated value, the higher the % they want. If total value is under 5k the bigger companies won't touch it.
Also, check the city ordinance for how long they can have a sale. In North Richland Hills they only allow 2 days. (that cut our profits almost in half) Most others offer 3 at least. Be sure and ask about advertising and how they market the sale. Foot traffic is everything.
The sale is usually structured like this:
Day 1: full price Day 2: 25% off Day 3: 50% off
Anything left after day 3 and you have 2 choices. Keep it and try and sell it yourself, or have them contact a junker who will give you pennies on the dollar.
Also, go through the house thoroughly. Every book, every drawer, every nook and cranny. Remove all financial info and personal documents. Don't worry about trying to organize anything, they will do that for you. BUT, do have the house clean and presentable when they come to look. Also, once they start prepping for the sale, they usually don't want you coming back in and taking stuff, so be thorough in your initial clean out.
Good luck. Its a job.

Most estate sale companies won't deal with firearms anymore due to all the liability/Federal bs For guns you will need to find a licensed dealer/broker or have your own 'private' one on one sale.

Not necessarily true. I was at one this past weekend that had guns. - pistols and rifles. Even had pictures posted on the estate sale website.

When I die they are just going to bring a 12 yard dump. Around here they put up street signs, and put it on FB, Nextdoor.
