Have been reading about many of you having good/great success using a "swim jig" for your bass fishing. I have plenty of "casting" jigs that I have used for years, but never tried much to swim them. In searching for swim jigs, they look very similar - and in some cases - the same as a casting jig.
What characteristics do you favor for your swim jigs? I noticed that many of them have a somewhat bullet shaped head and have noticed that pricing seems to vary considerably for jigs that appear to be very similar? No need to begin naming all the swim jigs but just what about certain jigs that seem to make them better for you...but colors of the jigs would be a help for me.
Thanks for your help.

You only need two or three colors...white, green pumpkin, and maybe a bluegill color. The main differences between the casting jig and swim jig is the degree of bend in the line tie and it’s vertical as opposed to horizontal. The horizontal tie is for bottom working and sliding over tree limbs and junk. The vertical tie makes a slimmer profile and helps the jig swim through grass and sticks easier. Usually a swim jig will have a wire or screw lock for plastics.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

swim jigs usually have a lighter wire hook which is better for hook sets on longer casts, and helps balance the bait with the high lessor degree hook offsets.
