Hey guys, quick question here. I have a 99 Skeeter 202C with a Yamaha 200 Vmax OX66. Currently running a Turbo Lightning 25p. Seems to run great, get 64 with a load at 5300ish RPM. Good hole shot. Little nicked up.

I came across a good deal on a mint Powertech VMX3 for a spare. PN shows a 25p but it also has a 24p stamp on it. Prop is quite a bit bigger, say 3/4in, and i did have to pull my trim tab fin off to accomodate. Will turning this bigger prop be an issue for my Vmax? I know i can run it and see what happens. Just want someone with more prop knowledge to weigh in. Would hate to do some damage running too much prop for a day.

You can replace trim tab with a flat one. I dont know Yamahas but i run a 15-1/4" PT and Michigan Wheel on my Optimax. I ran a Tempest Plus which is also a 15-1/4" on my Black Max. You should be fine as long as you stay within the proper rpm range. I am going to guess your boat will perform better with the larger prop. I ran several different props on the Black Max including a long eared chopper.
