I went there 2 days ago and wacked the sandies. had 2 go for 16". i used a white 1/4oz roaster tail on 6 lb line on a spinning reel rigged with a 6 foot ultra lite. Talk about blast. I had gone there to do some catfishing the day before and saw another angler catching sandies. caught my limit in about an hour. Be Careful guys the water is high and the concrete is very slick. saw two guys almost slide in while I was there. There is a serious undercurrent there so dont fall in. Be careful if you go. Seriously

I wouldn't recomend gong down there until all of the rain ends. The river is at its highest that i have seen it in a few years.

A lot of people catch sandies and carp. If you go to the bait shop and look at the wall when you look in it has some nice fish.

I have seen the pics. Is the bait store still open?? I just have never seen anyone catch any cats out there. I may try this weekend... Sunday morning, before it gets too crowded...

I used to catch Flatheads, Blue, and Channel Cats down below the dam. They're above the dam too, but it's best fishin' above the dam with a boat.

I used to catch all sizes of cats....many of the flatties were 15-30lbs, blues varied alot, with my biggest under 20lbs, and channels were almost all well under 10. I used shad, pantyhose stuffed with liver, shad, and Danny Kings. I also used live and dead perch and the occasional goldfish or tiny carp. THere may be goldfish in the trinity...at least a few of 'em, lol.
