I have a new to me 2011 Nitro 7Z that came would garmin 9 fish finders. The problem that I'm having is with the consul unit, and the side imaging. The left side is really clear on the side imaging but the right side is just not as clear as the left side. I think it is because where the transducer is mounted on the boat. It is mounted on the left side of the boat and I think the capitation from the motor is causing the distortion in the image. Is there anything that I can do to clear up the image on the right side?

It's prop-wash that's worse on the left, not capitation. I've don't recall an installation manual that didn't caution against installing a transducer on the left side of a standard outboard. You will probably get better results if the transducer is correctly located on the right side of the outboard. I'm wondering if the boat's retail service shop installed that transducer - they're known all to often for that type of really brilliant move. Fill the old mounting holes with Marine-Tex. If you aren't familiar with mounting one, find a shop that has experience doing it. (You don't want to mess up when drilling holes in the hull is involved.)
