Thought I would share a review on a new gadget I got today. It is called TYEPRO, and is for anyone wanting an aid with getting 4 lb test line through the small eyes of a #5 or #6 bluegill hook, and getting help with starting the knot process. This is for anyone old (like me) or someone with shaky hands, poor eyesight etc. I tried it out today on the #6 VMC spinshot dropshot hooks I use & it works great. You can go to the TYEPRO website & check out the video. This is going to save me a lot of time & headaches getting set up before the trip to the lake, plus if you do your re-ties on the lake it should prove invaluable...if you use a different type of knot it may not work for you, but this is the knot I have always used so it was made for me...

Thanks Steve, I will check it out. The 7 lb sinking braid I use is a lot smaller than 6 lb test mono. Sometimes it takes me 20 minutes to get rigged up with that stuff.

So far so good for me. I might need one of those hopefully in the very distant future. thumb

Looks like a slick tool. I wonder if it will work with jigs as small as 1/64th oz? I fish those on 2 and 4 pound line and sometimes it is a little hard getting the line through those tiny eyes while bobbing along in the float tube.

I did watch it. But I don't know if that slot for the eye of the hook is too wide for a 1/64th oz. The eye is pretty small on those and I'm thinking the plastic will be too thick.

Flags...Don't know. The smallest hook I have is a #10 Salmon egg hook...tried it and it worked great on that tiny hook...

Might just look into that. Right no I use readers glasses and they seem to work just fine for me. It still takes me a little time to tie a rig on but I manage. Tyepro might make it easier for me.

Gitter...One of the reasons it makes it easier for me is that when I try and get the 7 or 8 twists to make the knot, the swivel on the VMC spinshot does it's job and unravels the twists, so I have to start over & over & over, trying to hold the swivel steady in place while I get the line through the loop. It eliminates that problem...

Thanks Techno...I can see this as a definite advantage for bigger hooks...

Another advantage is having the hook extend out from the main line so that the bait is dangling in an enticing way, plus you get a better Hookset because they can grab the bait all the way into the mouth.

I used to tie the Palomar knot straight into the main line, but I found I caught more fish by having a loop knot extend out away from the main line.
