I have and unexpected trip to Oklahoma in 2 weeks. Looked around and decided to take the boat and fish Lake Murray. Never been there so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Either spool up with some light line and fish for smallies on the south end or use your normal gear and fish the far north end for largemouth.

watch for the humps in the lake, not sure of level but some can get shallow this time of yr.
also point coming out se of the marina in main lake is loooong and shallow.

like said, smallies south, largemouth north.

there is a cut mid lake from one side to the other, idle thru first time.

great lake and is spring fed, no rivers or major creeks run into it.

lipless cranks, hula grubs/jigs and 6-8" worms on points or humps on south end would be my start.

Slow rolling 3.25" swimbaits on 1/4oz jig heads will get you some smallie bites down south this time of year. Drop shotting smaller trick worm type baits would be another option if you find a school

Just moved down here a couple months ago. I'm having a hard time figuring out this lake. I can catch some smallmouth on a ned rig or shakey head but they are all very small. Early in the morning I've had some luck with schooling bass chasing shad large and small mouth. After 11:00 the jet fleas and the wake boats get pretty thick.

Advice? Taking a boat with TX registration numbers means you will get checked for an Oklahoma fishing license. Make sure you have one.
