Good read https://www.newsweek.com/key-defeat...s-we-need-start-using-it-opinion-1519535I am usually accustomed to advocating for positions within the mainstream of medicine, so have been flummoxed to find that, in the midst of a crisis, I am fighting for a treatment that the data fully support but which, for reasons having nothing to do with a correct understanding of the science, has been pushed to the sidelines. As a result, tens of thousands of patients with COVID-19 are dying unnecessarily. Fortunately, the situation can be reversed easily and quickly.
I am referring, of course, to the medication hydroxychloroquine. When this inexpensive oral medication is given very early in the course of illness, before the virus has had time to multiply beyond control, it has shown to be highly effective, especially when given in combination with the antibiotics azithromycin or doxycycline and the nutritional supplement zinc.

I don’t know about that. This is one I think people have a right to spike the football over. What happened because of who claimed it had promise was shameful and clearly political. No beating a dead horse when the study that claimed it was dangerous was made out of whole cloth (totally fabricated data).

The real question is would you ask for an unproven drug that might help if contracted a disease that might kill you?
Until they come out and show the down side is worse than the up side I would specifically ask for it and all I've read has been kind of spotty on whether it works or not. I am comfortable in thinking its downsides are very minor in comparison.

It’s sad that a certain group of people in the US lie about the drug to just get a certain person out of office.

Are you wanting the government to force patients to take hydroxychloroquine or are you saying the government will not let your doctor prescribe it for you? I had not heard that it was pulled from the market.
