Hey Y'all,
Any recommendations for artificial guides for Lake Buchanan Stripers? I'll be going in the fall when the fishing picks up again. Not very interested in soaking live shad. Thank!

Also, just wondering, how high does Buchanan rank for Striper/Hybrid lakes in Texas? I assume Texoma is No.1 but is Buchanan far behind?

Buch was a good striper lake when they used to stock it but they dont stock stripers anymore. Mostly hybrids now. Most guides there use shad 3-4 inches long. Some buy jumbo minnows ant red top bait ship. If I were there for stripers I would go on the other side of the buch dam to inks lake. Up close to the dam there are some large stripers and they arent fished that much. THey dont use artificials much like they do at twok. There is a guide at buch , they call him the cuban. He could update you on what is going on now at buch

They still do stock Stripers though. I know they stocked like 100,000 last year. They just reduced the amount a bit so the Stripers could grow better with less forage competition I think.
Why don't people use artificial in Buchanan? Never liked live bait much.
