I have caught a many (thousands?) fish over the years on a Zebco 33 (old one like yours) and an Ugly Stik rod.

The fish does not know I am using a spin castin reel -- [b][/b] The real secret to it all, really, and the old old timers really knew it wellThanks all - Mrs. Mattson and I certainly appreciate the comments. Good luck out there with getting your own trophy bucket! Forgot to mention - I was asked about the handle - well it broke and I fixed it. A rough repair, but goes with the territory of all that rod has been through with me: Best Rod Ever!

...zebo 33 and ugly stick pistol grip as well....lake tyler marina... I pick up and use the bait-casters & spinning too, but there is absolutely nothing in the world like hauling one in with that classic 33 . . . and you can keep one running with little fuss for decade after decade.
