Remember those times well . Lots of great fish caught during that time frame. My best day was a club tournament (3 fish limit) a little over 25 lbs. Was culllinig 8 lbers all day. Some local guy, I think his name was James, told me to use Mag Flukes. Worked out pretty good. Old memories are great.......

Just watched the coverage. Man, Terry Scroggins caught 44-4 the last day throwing a Plum 10" Power Worm. They were at the ultimate place at the ultimate time

I bought a few packs of those 10" jelly worms after that falcon tournament and threw them at lake Austin a bit. I only caught a couple of 5's after dark on those worms. laugh laugh laugh

Good thing I had some other baits that were working for me a little better that helped me catch a few DD's. laugh laugh laugh

RIP Lake Austin.

Nice memories!
Nice place to catch big fish on public waters relatively easily during that time.

Over the years Falcon has put a smile on a lot of bass fishermens faces, and a lot of fond memories as well.
Back in the mid eighties double digit bass were not that common and evidently rare.
I fished a local bass club back then and it was one of the original bass clubs in it's day.
I caught a 10.13 which is my personal best in a club tournament, and when the news got out the local S.A. paper sports writer mentioned it was being looked at as a possible lake record!
About a week or so later my notoriety was spoiled as some snow bird was trolling along the dam, and caught an 11 pounder.
A biologist checked my bass scale count and claimed it was a native bass although Florida strain bass had been stocked not long before I caught the fish.
Good times and memories. I won $200 in the big bass pot and a lifetime membership in the club. Not too shabby!

Just one more cast!
