you mentioned fishing the north end of the lake early in the year.
years ago, we had property on Cedar Creek, and, during the winter and early spring, the water levels always seemed to recede so much that the north end of the lake was dry ground for several yards offshore.
I've noticed there's been a lot of new developments in that area lately.
have things changed? do they better manage the spillway for the entire lake?

MCSnaggers the one big difference is we've had ample rains the last 5-6 years. All credit goes to Mother Nature on this one.

It’s hard to have a conversation on the forum about certain things without ruffling a few feathers. Say something negative about your broken abu 6500 and get ready to make a few enemies. Braid vs mono will get people going and asking guys to release fish over 10lbs will usually get a few guys upset. People have different opinions and we all do things a little differently. I appreciate the offer to join y’all on the fish fry and if I was available I would. I been on crutches and off the water for 4 weeks and in another week I will finally be back on 2 feet and able fish. I will be at the lake doing what I love to do. Y’all have fun!

Please help if you can, going down there this weekend to stay at a friends house on the lake (just north of Seven Points) Going to fish off his dock but he did say we can take the pontoon out and fish also (not sure if the pontoon have a depth finder so might be hard to tell how deep we are) so if we where to drift around that Tom Finley park that might good or can you point me in another area? Thanks for any help.

Bassdeer, I'm going to assume you're buddy doesn't have a topography map on his graph, so you'll need to fish the old school way. I would focus on the windy side of the major points jutting out from the east side of the lake, with fresh cut bream or shad being my bait of choice. Stay in 12-18ft. If you don't get bit within the first ten minutes, move.

IF the boat does not have electronics, go to Navonics web site. You can pull up maps for free, even on your phone. Lake is just a few inches low, so numbers on the maps will be very close. Follow Laners directions. Will be easy to see points, creek beds, etc. Will get you close on the depths.
