I have been right the entire time.

The flu data is suspicious since I don't believe it's actually tracked.

Numbers seem kind of high seeing the CDC US estimated flu deaths for the last 2 years were 61k for 2017-2018 and 34k for 2018-2019.

That would mean Texas was responsible for 1/5 of all US flu related deaths in 2017-2018 and slightly less than 1/3 in 2018-2019.


Also of note is what the current numbers will bring. Shutting down schools and all the methods use that would normally slow the spread of Covid should also slow the spread of the common flu. It will be interesting to see how many deaths come from the 2019-2020 flu stats.

Only commenting on this post for one specific item -

The Feds opened two testing centers near McAllen last week. It is my assumption the results from those two testing centers will make the news in the coming weeks. That is my assumption and we all know about assumptions. Standing by.

Well, probably not tracked this year. It mysteriously doesn't kill anyone this year.

In 60+ years of my life, I have known ZERO neighbors, friends or family members that have died from the flu. In half a year I have 2 neighbors, friends or family members that have died from COVID 19.

I thought there was around 30k deaths per year in the entire US from the flu. So Texas makes up 1/3 of all flu deaths? That doesn’t sound right.

And just as "statistically valid":

I know ZERO persons that died from Covid; my grandfather died from influenza.

If you go down to the bottom of the page and look at the data from 10/4/2019, you find the same stats reflected by the numbers in the first post for 2018-2019.



Down on page 5 or the 10/4 (last week of the flu season where they list cumulative numbers) they give the Texas deaths. They are not just talking about the flu. P&I is Pneumonia and Influenza.
So they are talking about people in Texas that have died due to pneumonia AND influenza.

So its pneumonia and flu vs Covid.
