With the slx dc being 189, I’ve though about adding a few. What’s everyone’s experiences with them? What techniques are they a must have for?

I’ve enjoyed the DC reels some hate on them but I think once you find the correct casting adjustment they are plug and play lol

I bought 3 for my nephew who is mentally challenged. Zero backlashes. I tried teaching him to use a spinning rig to no avail. Perfect for him. But me personally I don’t use one not saying I wouldn’t though. If I did I would go with the shimano

Have taken a few casts with an SLX DC, didn't notice much difference from my Curado K personally. I would like to test a Curado DC and see how that is tho. Just my .02

I've purchased 7 or 8 Curado K's and one Curado DC. All of them are great reels.
Will the DC allow me to cast farther than my K's? No. The OP asked if they are worth it? Depends on what your "It" is. Are they better for skipping a jig under docks? Yes! Are they better for novice anglers to learn how to cast without backlashing? Yes!
Is it an overall better product for the experienced angler? Not in my opinion.

I've had two people send me reels saying the reel needed repaired because of the DC sounds

My girlfriend has been using spinning rods but has been wanting to use a baitcaster since our first time out. I got her two curado dc reels. She a rockstar with the baitcaster now and She still has the original line on them. Are they worth it? You tell me

I wouldn't get them again. If you know how to cast good I would get the standard reels instead.
I bought 2 of the Curado DC's. One of them is good, one of them is junk. (And yes I know how to set them.)
From my experience and reading about other's, I think you can get lemons with these reels.

I have two Curado DC reels and I like them but the Daiwa Tatula SV TW is cheaper and easier to set up if you have backlash issues.
For me I like the Daiwa Tatula SV TW and the Tatula Elite way better, but thats just me. I just get better distance with the Daiwas than I do the shimanos with the exception of my Shimano SLX. Now with that being said, I still have 4 Curado E series reels that I will never get rid of as well as my pearl white Chronarch. Those were very well made.

Is it an overall better product for the experienced angler? Not in my opinion. I will second your statement! I have several Curado K's and a couple Curado DC's. All of them are top notch reels ahd the whir sound doesn't bother me at all. I also have a Daiwa Tatula SV TW and I prefer the DC's over the Daiwa as they are easier to set up and use and the Curado's just outperform them.

I would pay the extra for them have three of them and for the money the SLX reel is better.
