I have gone several times with the Legacy out of Venice just north of Fort Meyers. Great catches, basic boat without bells and whistles. If you go with them ask mate Andy if he remembers "Dracula's Bride" that went fishing with us once.
http://www.fishforgrouper.com/From mid December to mid April there is a big catamaran from NJ that stay at Ft Meyers Beach. The Miss Barnegat Light does weekend trips to the Dry Tortuegas. The boat leaves on Friday night Great fishing starts Saturday at 1am and continue for 24 to 32 hours before the boat return.
