How is the terrain on the 3.5 acres?
I'm in a similar situation to you but 3 of my 3.5 mowable acres are very rough - ruts, crawfish mounds, etc. I (especially Mrs DIggerwolf) need a z-turn with suspension.
I have not pulled the trigger yet but I've also done some research and have pretty much settled on the Bad Boy Maverick because of the suspension and there's an authorized dealer/service center only a couple miles from my house.
Good luck!

I have a 2.5 acre lot where I mow about 1.75 acres of it...been doing this w/ a 48" LA145 riding John Deere. This month we just purchased a Kubota Z125 (Z125SKH-54) Kommander series 54". Can't wait to take delivery this weekend. Specs: https://kubota.ca/en/products/power-equipment/mowers/z100/z125skh-54Got one heck of a deal on it and couldn't walk away. I like you looked all over and almost bought a Spartan. I went with Kubota due to having a dealership and service center not 15 minutes from me.

Bahaia has genetically evolved. I swear it has ears and knees. When it hears the mower it lays flat to the ground. and as soon as the mower shuts off, about half of them stand back up and shoot me the bird.

Good luck! My terrain is pretty level and smooth. Crawdad chimneys after a rain in the tens of thousands. I looked at the Mavericks, if I go Bad Boy it will be the Renegade or Rogue...Lawton

I have the Grasshopper 620. The mower deck is in the front and raises up to change the blades, clean the grass out, ect... the deck also flexes, meaning it will ride with the terrain. Great mower. They are not cheap though.

Thanks for all the advice. After a lot of studying I pulled the trigger on a Scag Turf Tiger 2 with the EFI 37hp. I liked the warranty and know that this is a beast, and maybe more machine than I need. Runners up were Bad Boy Renegade, as well as the two just below Rogue and some other R starter. I couldn't deal with there lackluster warranty. I almost went with the Kabota 726 mostly because of the warranty, price, and 60 month 0, yet with 25 1/2 hp I thought it under powered with 60" deck. My Deere D140 has 21hp with a 48" and it's under powered.Never got a chance to look at The big Hustler that was #1 on my list, because I didn't find a local dealer that actually had units in stock. Thanks again to all that contributed...Lawton

I've been using Spartan for the past few years. 3 acres in Dayton and 5 acres in Broaddus wit varying terrain from smooth, flat to stuff that should need a brush hog instead of a mower on. https://spartanmowers.com/

You'll love it. Be sure to set your body weight on the suspension seat. I'm very happy with my Tiger Cat with a 61" deck.
