This from my man ZDoggMD. I've shared a few things from his Youtube channel before. ER doc just plain telling it straight. Worth your coupla minutes. Not Lib or Conservative (even tho I've thought some of his other stuff was pretty much Lib). Common sense !

If we could only get that kind of clarity on a national level....

I agree with his prescription, emphasizing compliance as a social norm.
I don't agree that safetyism is something that we apply to healthcare at all. We do go off the deep end inventing high cost treatments for disease but I would think extreme ism's would be more applied to social services. We think we have to protect everyone by giving them stuff when they fall below a certain standard. We give them too much and before they absolutely need it. I've always favored the block of cheese, loaf of bread type welfare. My grandfather was in the Conservation Corps during hard times. Thats the direction we need to head in. Sorry for complaining about welfare in a healthcare thread.

+1. I would add that if someone is in the high risk category they need to stay home. Sorry, no Lowes to pick out new plantings. YOU are at risk and throwing the dice a mask will keep you safe. My neighborhood has college kids that gather left and right from one house to the other. You're not going to catch anything from my "social isolating" wife or I if we don't have a mask on. It's the 18-30 year old kids doing what kids do. I just don't see much reaching out to them. Bottom line is if you are at high risk you need to take more precautions than anyone else. Don't demand the rest sacrifice if you won't. Don't act like wearing a mask is the ticket to going everywhere you did before COVID. That life is over, reset, new phase of social separation with more stay-cation and less meandering the stores. Pre-COVID is not Post-COVID. Those days are gone my friends.

He says, "we should do what is rationale and simple to reduce harm... wear a mask, avoid crowded places if you can, wash your hands, and get tested and isolate yourself if you come down ill." That does sound pretty darn reasonable.
ZdoggMD is great. Medical doctor who knows what he's talking about and is practical and down to earth.

Ah, this dipshit is probably where Lt Gov Dan Patrick got his guidance from, when he said the elderly should volunteer to die to save the economy and that "there are more important things than living".
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!" ― Hunter S. Thompson

What part, specifically, do you disagree with? He probably is remorseful he called someone a "[censored]" that he knows absolutely NOTHING about. He realizes it illuminates a lack of character while making him appear the [censored] ! This is good !!!!

He is right, but the problem isn’t the lack of a common sense solution. The problem is getting the population to follow the plan. Heck, Look at all the folks here arguing about something as minor as wearing a mask.
Courage - knowing something will hurt and still doing it. Stupidity - knowing something will hurt and still doing it. That’s why life is difficult
