Hey Willie! The shrimp boats are here! About 1 hour out of Port A where the last set of ships are at anchor. Just wanted to give you a heads up! Good luck on your trip!

But what Willie, et al really need is or them to be working 2-1/2 - 3 hours offshore.

You can track the movement and location of shrimp boats (and other marine traffic) here. Those identified as "fishing vessels" are mostly shrimpers ...

C_W, damn good to hear from you.

Appreciate the heads up on the shrimpboats. Hope you caught a bunch when out there.

There may be an issue with that page because shrimpers are usually all over it and I see none, Not sure why.

the shrimpers were there. we fished 7 or 8 of them. Blackfin bite was a slow pick but good fish.
I think we ended up with 21 BFT's for 16 anglers.
plus 2 scamps, 1 almaco, 5 vermillion (FREIGHTLINERS!), a dusky that probably went 100#.
and about 9 billion gigantic bonito's.
I mean big. I have never seen schools and schools of 10-15# bonito, but I did today. Actually, they were huge fun.
Big props to Willie and TOO for organizing another fun summer trip. Really enjoyed the company.
I would also like to point out that no barracudas were encountered, although there was a "ghost" yellowfin that made a short appearance.(I'll just leave it right there)
Until next time..............
