X2 for DFW Safe's great guys to do business with. Their delivery guys were extremely professional and did a great job bolting mine down. Their selection and pricing is hard to beat.

How hot will the internal temp of a regular safe get in a typical house fire?

What is the max temp 100 year old photographs can withstand before it damages them?

What is the max temp digital media can withstand before it damages them?

How hot will the bottom of all the rubble get on a 2 story house get if it burns to the foundation?

Are there any variables that might skew the facts that you stated?

A. Too many variables...where the fire is, building construction, and compartment contents.

B. No idea, they sell safes on temps for an amount of time.

C. Same as B

D. No very, all the fuel is burned

E. No, not at all

Please ask more questions

Edit...i guess you live in a fully insulated dome that dosent telease any heat and you keep feeding it fuel and oxygen. It could get there for two hours

Also think about where your house sits relative to the nearest fire department.

I like Cannons for the cost. Black Friday is great but Academy puts them on sale pretty often.

I agree, my buying a safe has little to do with fire ratings. I want something solid, can hold enough guns, and can't easily be walked off with once I bolt it to the slab. Whatever the fire rating is, great.

I have this one because it was on sale for like $600 way back in the day. Would buy another one.

Good point about how close you live to the Fire Dept!

I can see by those completely objective answers that you are an expert on heat transfer and that I wasted good money trying to do what I can to protect my family photographs.

However, I did figure out that a coozie keeps my beer a little more tasty for a little while when it is hot outside than without it. Would not the same apply to an insulated gun safe? Are you saying that more insulation has no value? Kinda like a Nomex / Kevlar Firefighter's suit is a waste of Taxpayer's money since a Firefighter is always exposed to the same environment and therefore those suits have no life saving value. I was thinking there was some kind of smart people's math that proved that temperature, exposure time, heat transfer coefficients, and the material properties that are subjected to the heat might be some of the variables that could be the difference between happy and sad.

I just order one for our son from DFW safe. Look at some box stores. Some you have to order. pay shipping and donโ€™t know how it going to look when it show up. They just drop at curb. Dfw will bring into house and level it. They have a good selection on hand
