My buddy and I are are wanting to go on a Chandeleur Island trip (neither of us have been). It seems as though most of the outfitters have large boats that sleep 10-12 people. My question is do these outfitters allow just two people to join a group or do you have to form a larger group of 10-12 people? If you’ve been before, which outfitter do you recommend? Thanks!

My experience has been that they are almost always looking for a smaller group to fill out their trip. I don't have a recommendation for an outfitted most are about the same. Check websites for customer feedback. Two big items are the skirts they supply and the meals they provide. Only one real issue but you pay your money and take your chance because you will likely have to book the trip a month or more in advance you can't get a good feel for the weather and if the wind blows the fishing gets tough. It's worth trying so go fishing
