Changed my lower unit oil recently and it had a really pungent smell (not milky)...suspect seal leak...?. Any suggestions on shops or individual mechanics that work on this type of stuff? 1998 Tracker 90hp.

Suggestions appreciated ...

not milky and no water in the oil, no problem. gear oil smells pungent. mineral oil will mix with water and turn milky, synthetic oil won't mix with water so you'll have water traces in the oil and if in doubt, pour it in a glass container, you'll see the water and oil separation
