You can expect to see a major amount of cases of ransomware attacks coming up,
for regular computer users it will be mostly via phishing emails with subject headers
re: Corona virus, ect

For the big boy's, University of California SF for example they just paid 1.1 million to recover data.

Please take this into consideration and secure you data to a removable back up device.

My wife works in a Ft. Worth HS. All of FWISD was hit by ransom ware right before they got out of school for COVID. They still don’t have everything fixed.

...and actually remove the the removable back up device. Ransomware don't care about removable media that's removed.

Good idea. It also wouldn't hurt to wash your mouse with soap and hot water after using.

my wives computer got hit over night with some kind of microsoft scam. Tried to download malware on her chromebook, it wouldnt take it. I was able to recover the computer, but sure would like to run some kind of free spyware.
