Anyone been to Alaska and had to complete the Travel Declaration and go through the 72-hour or 5-day testing and/or test at the airport? Supposed to be leaving for there in a month and really worried about whether it is even worth it. Just hoping to hear from some others to see how the experience was. Thanks.

We had some go there 3 weeks ago. I think they got tested here before they left.

My son is supposed to be going in ten days and as of right now it is not possible to get tested and get results to take with him on the airplane. There is an option with a pending result and quarantine when he gets there until he receives results as long as the test is within 5 days of arrival. His airline tickets are no refundable or I would just tell him to let this stuff blow over and then go. Please let me know what f anyone knows of a testing center with quicker results.

Call a private place like Quest and ask on turnaround, I tried Legacy ER and they told me 4-5 days. There is an online test you overnight in and supposed to have results within 24 - 48 hours once you overnight back. My luck I wouldn't get a good sample and would get a false positive, then I am stuck in AK for 14 days.

I heard Walgreens is providing testing with results in 24 hours.
Problem I heard is getting in for the test.

I know a guy who knows a guy who traveled up there in May or June. I asked him about the 'self reporting' at the airport ... his answer was 'huh?'.
From what I gather, Alaska isn't actively enforcing this stuff. Yet.

Can't speak to Alaska but I had a friend move back from Washington State in April. He had to sign all the paperwork at the airport of where he would be self quarantining for 14 days not thinking anything of it. On day 8 2 DPS Troopers showed up at his door to confirm he was there.

The people who really got screwed are those like me who got their Canadian fishing trips cancelled as a result of the Canadian travel restrictions
