I sometimes have Tom Thumb deliver to my home. They have a proper freezer/refrigeration section on their delivery trucks.

I don't want someone picking out my veggies, fruit or meat.

I started doing it after the 2nd week COVID hit and shut a lot of stuff done. Took some getting used to with the quantity / per piece / per pound deal but it has been great. After the first 2 or 3 weeks Walmart increased their "Pick-up" staff and allowed more time slots / days to open up and it has been 100% since then. The only drawback is the occasional "Out of Stock" items but that happened when we were going in to buy it as well.

I don't want someone picking out my veggies, fruit or meat. I was very skeptical at the beginning as well but with our Walmart they pick the best stuff. It is probably because they pull from the back, not the front of the shelves, so the freshest stuff is what you get.

We’ve been doing it (Walmart) for years. The only meat I buy from there is frozen Old Folks Sausage and frozen one pound rolls of lean ground meat.
Cast I have a short attention spa

Tried it for the first time today (Covid prevention). Pretty convenient. Wal Mart no problem. HEB 2 paid for steaks MIA. Have to go back.
Overall, good experience. Think I will continue until Kung Flu is gone. I had the same at HEB. Missing items that I was charged for and also got some items I never paid for.

the spousal unit does it. Only problems we've had were operator error. Not checking sizes, packaging and quantities ordered. real shocker when you get 7, 10lb bags of potatoes.
We've had fried taters, baked taters, mashed taters, tater soup, tater salad, scalloped taters.........I'm kinda tired of taters.
Last edited by UGLYSHCTICK; 06/29/20 09:35 PM. Reason: they call me tater salad....

Too many advantages not to use the pick up service.
15 minutes sitting in the truck vs 60+minutes stomping around a store.
Only have to deal with 1 person vs all the other shoppers and employees in the store.
Saves money by not buying items not on the list.
Missing items (happened 3-4 times over a couple of years), call them up and have them credit your card.
AND!!!! You don't have to stand in a second line to show your receipt.
