We kicked it around pretty good recently and had a couple we thought of making offers on. We talked a bit about building new but in the end we went with a conventional home. There are some incredible brarndos out there though. They have definitely come a long way. I enjoy looking at the various websites that have pix of them. Some truly great craftmanship and creativity out there.

If I were building a new house, I would very seriously consider the idea. Spend the money on the interior part of house rather than the exterior.

Hop built one or seven at the place he works.
No way would I make a single structure to keep a residence and storage unless it was needed because of size, budget, etc...
Build a shop first and save for a home.

Quite a few people on here have mentioned that the price ends up being roughly the same versus building a conventional house. At that point, I would rather have a facade that I find visually pleasing rather than a steel barn. If itโs really a gigantic cost savings, I would be all over it. Iโm also not in the market to buy or build a house anytime soon.
