Got a questions for all you guys out there, What kind of shoes do you where when you are on the river or lakes.
Been thinking about the neoprene shoe/socks.
Thanks for your time, stay safe

I wear these and really like them. Very light weight, drain well, dry fast and very comfortable.

It depends on how cold it is, I've been out in December and January. Cold, cold water--NRS HydroSkin Wetsocks + NRS Paddle Wetshoes. Cold water--NRS Paddle Wetshoes. Starting to warm up--NRS Hydroskin Wetsocks + Columbia Drainmaker III shoes. Hot weather--Columbia Drainmaker III shoes.
I just tried some Aleader water shoes this weekend, very good drainage, fast to dry, and pretty cheap.

Some kind of sandal (Keens, Walmart knock-offs, I have both and can't really tell the difference) about 97% of the time. Old running shoes 3% of the time. Never Crocs, they get wet and twist on my foot. Once launched, I usually un-shoe and throw them in the footwell. The shoes are only essential for when I'm on the bank loading and unloading.

I got a pair of the Columbia Bahama style water shoes a couple years ago on sale for like $30. They are perfect for kayaking and even some light duty wading and surf fishing.
If it’s cold or I want to keep debris out I’ll wear them with neoprene socks.

Water temp below 50 degrees--almost knee high water proof boots Water temp 50-80 degrees--old running shoes Water temp 80+--cheap slip on water shoes from Wmart
Whatever shoes you choose, wear long dry wicking pants and long socks. Very few things worse than sunburn kayak leg. You get a bad case of it one time, and you wouldn't wish it on your worst enemy.

I got some of those on sale and will try them out tomorrow. They run narrow, though.

I personally don't care for self draining shoes on the kayak. Seems like everytime I step in the water before I climb into the kayak my shoes get filled with gravel, mud, sand, etc. I usually just wear my wading boots (Simms Zip It Booties). On occasion I'll wear a neoprene type water shoe but not often. Regardless of what I wear I avoid black soles. Got tired of cleaning black marks off the deck of the kayak.
You get out of it what you put into it!

I have Soloman Amphib Bold. I like them. Bought them in a rush because I had a trip coming up.
Cold weather/water, I wear much boots or my duck waders.

I use Magellan Outdoors Men's Neoprene Wading BootsThese have a stiffer sole than normal water shoes or dive booties making it painless to walk on gravel or rocks. The sole is not stiff enough to fish in a rocky river all day but more than adequate for getting kayak from vehicle to/from water. Price is pretty good to as they are under $30 at Academy. I have over 200 outings on mine and still in good shape. I wear my sims wading boots when it gets colder out.
