Generally speaking......Just FYI those cheaps slabs from the convenience store will catch you a limit of sandbass. 99% of catching sand bass is not the lure you are using, it's that you found them and then bounce something in front of their face. If there not biting whatever you are bouncing they are most likely not there.

My daughter and I went out Saturday morning and found them at the inlet of the glass house cove. Big school of fish. 3/4 oz slabs. Two or three bounces and then bop-bop fish on! Lots of small fish and caught about a dozen yellow bass. Ended up with 6 keepers and loads of fun in about 45 minutes of fishing. The wind was brutal. I couldn't keep the boat on the school. Had to fire up the big motor then controlled drift over them. Thanks for the tips and pointers. I am going to fish with more confidence now.

One key is not the fact that you are marking fish. What you want to see is active fish stacked vertically near balls of bait. Leave the suspended fish in a horizontal band to the trollers.

I fished there myself for many years those are solid spots, try using smaller lures like 2 inch rubber shad bodies with1/4 or 3/8 ounce heads ..Yie on 2 if its windy or troll slow past those points.. the levy ( note its where he has the circle not where it shows on paper maps.)) near power plant is 14 to 20 ft on top good fish could be holding any where from the shallow end out and small lead slab with a strong crappie jig tied above will work there best.

Hire guide Carey Thorn 469-528-0210. His TFF name is Tarponfly or you can find him on Facebook. He guarantees limits of crappie and sandies, plus he will show you where and how to use your triple shot. He's on Lavon pretty much every day.
