Spot lock or livescope ? If you could only afford one at this time , which would you do ?

I have had my Xi5 so long , it is hard to think about what it was like before. I am thinking I would vote for spot lock before
live scope.

good luck

Mo

Exactly the same question the wife and I faced. I wanted Livescope. She wanted spot lock. We finally went with both (ouch). If I had to pick just one, I’d have gone with the livescope and done my best with the old TM.

I caught thousands of crappie every year before Livescope. But running trips spot lock is invaluable. Don’t waste time drifting 30-40ft off a spot taking fish off the hook or re tying after a break off. I would vote SI at the console. Spot lock TM and livescope in that order.

I was thinking about this , Biggest game changers in crappie fishing in the last 10 years,

# 1 side imaging , the ability to find structure became so easy. My crappie fishing back in the day consisited of fishing
timber , bridges and a brushpile or two. I have not made the run to the bridge since I started using sidescan.

# 2 spotlock , for all the obvious reasons

#3 livescope .

good luck to all

"Anchor" for Motorguide (Spot Lock - for Minn Kota) for sure! I've got the Xi5 with Pinpoint and love it, when it is working correctly. rolleyes

Good luck with your choice, and enjoy the journey. grin

Just upgraded to the Ulterra. Should have done it years ago. Side imaging then spot lock.

I was mad at myself also when I finally got mine..... roflmao

Side Note......I use to hate SI when it 1st came out, I've put a lot of time into finding and making crappie sanctuaries then here comes SI and most could find years of work I had put in within a couple hours...... I've learned to make small piles to have my private crappie hotels...... thumb
