 Moon overhead/moon underfoot

Can someone explain to me the moon overhead/moon underfoot theory? And what it means. Also, just a random question, what is the deal with a banana on a boat? Thanks for your help.

These some debate and obscurity on the banana on a boat being bad luck, but the main theory I hear is that back in the old days bunches of bananas floating up on shore meant a boat sank offshore, and that enough of them indicated a hurricane. Alot of guys take that pretty seriously, there's a super famous captain out in Florida that has physically removed people from his boat and lost his charter for the day when one of the party admitted they ate a banana that morning and would be bringing a banana on board in their tummy. We had a captain in Alaska not speak to us for the rest of the day when we brought a banana on board, we didn't really know this was a serious think. I've never had one on board since, shame too, bananas are a perfect fishing snack otherwise.

Bananas make a great snack in the boat, and fish can't read those lunar charts.

There may be some merit to the solunar charts, mostly with saltwater fish and the tides in my opinion. I don't think it has much of an effect on freshwater fish. A poor fishing prediction on a solunar chart (or any chart for that matter  ) is not going to keep me from fishing.

Freshwater I can't say that I notice as much in relation to the solunar times, but offshore, I have seen a direct relation to the peak times. We don't go offshore for 30 minutes or an hour, it usually takes 1 - 2 hours just to get were we are fishing. We will fish for hours then all of a sudden the bite will really pick up. When we check the tables it was within 30 minutes to an hour of the peak time. We will still catch fish during off times but the action definitely picks up during the peak times.

Bananas, I haven't had an issue with.
Lunar phases in salt water.
I do believe barometric pressure plays a role in freshwater.
