"Yellowstone" has already been mentioned and discussed. I'm seen the trailers since its inception, but I just started watching this past Sunday, and I caught a full Season 2 marathon. --Good stuff! The other show is called "Barkskins," on the National Geographic Channel. It is bad-ss, set in "New France," which is Canada around 1693. Yvon (the Indian) and Hamish Goames are dark, brooding and awesome, and so are so many other characters! Just give it a go if you choose. Most likely, you'll enjoy it. I hope more seasons are forthcoming. They deserve it. Addendum: You'll probably recognize several character actors, and many new faces. been watchin Barkskins, but the wife doesn't care for it, so i do it in my spare time. reminds me of the Jason Mamoa show Frontier.

I'd surmise if women don't like the show, it's because they can't get the idea of "bugs and no bathrooms" out of their heads.
