If I were going to church, or anywhere, yes, I'm gonna be wearing socks with loafers or anything besides crocs or soccer slides/sandals.

I don't agree. I find it disrespectful. Just my  To whom? To the damned shoes. No shoe wants to have some nasty foot fungus, mildew, mold, nasty shoved into it without sock protection. Socks are like condoms for shoes.

I couldn't do no socks in loafers - too much sweating, and in a few trips, the loafers might have attendees sniffing the air, wondering what that smell is.  I don't do loafers and no socks. Don't like the feeling. I have known 2 guys in my life that no socks and penny loafers was just part of their style. Not me. I really don't even any shoe without socks. Sandals? Please, no socks!

I'm not a religious person nor attend church, but I have seen beach churches before, show up as you are, flip flops and beach attire were the norm

probably should have mentioned it but the loafers I wear are crocs and are kind of a dress up type boat shoes similar to sperry top siders......dark brown and well ventilated so you don't a foot sweating/odor problem....you would have too look close at them to tell they are crocs....
my excuse for not wearing socks is that I live in very warm place and I'm retired and wear shorts-short sleeve or t-shirt and crocs/no socks all summer except going to church...when you get used to that,putting on socks feels like you got a heavy coat on your feet and isn't comfortable..
so...my excuse is gonna be I think the Lord wants me to be in church and be comfortable plus Jesus didn't wear socks either....and I guess we will find out who is right and who is wrong when and if we get to the great hereafter...

And we will also find out our thoughts on race. We will find out all kinds of things about ourselves. Some may find out they were right and many will find out they were wrong about their thoughts and beliefs.

Socks are like condoms for shoes. do you and those afraid of smelly feet polluting shoes take a shower and wash your feet every day?.... I've fished for years wearing shorts and boat shoes with no problems...I can understand wearing socks with boots or lace up shoes but loafers,,boat shoes and crocs are pretty ventilated...
