Chuck...I catch them in bot places all summer long...
I kind of figured that! I have done pretty good in the timbers as well especially during the summer!

Steve do you still fish a drop shot rig in the timber? If they move there and that is where I have to go after them, Im going to have to buy a lot more hooks and drop shot weights in the boat. Haha. I lost four yesterday to those pesky bass breaking me off.

Hello Steve, it was me that said "Hi" at the ramp. Thanks to you, my son and I have had a great year on the bluegill.
But this trip I had decided to chase some bass. Went to my early morning spots and caught a few 18" bass. When I was tired of losing expensive crankbaits to the rocks at my first spot, I went over by the intake. Only one bass over there so I decided to break out the gulp and see what the bluegill were doing. The bite was good, as I was catching a fish or getting a bite about every cast on the gulp alive. But as you noted, not as many large ones as normal. I did catch one Rio there. It was small but the first one of the year. After about 15 minutes I decided to head back to some more of my bass areas.
I only fished until about 9:00. Needed to get back online for work.
Thanks for your report and another awesome video.
Alan

Alan...ok...now I remember. You are the lucky dog that lives 5 minutes from the ramp at Fayette ! Glad to here that you and your son are having a good year. The rios that I have caught there have all been on those deeper rocks leading in to the intake. The thing is, you never know what you will catch off those rocks. This week I had a pretty big bass break me off in those rocks & also caught that nice catfish there...all on the gulps...
