I have a TRX 19 with a 21 INCH Tempest Plus on a 200 Mercury 4 stroke and it just doesn't have much top end, is there anyone on here that's using a different prop with better result's. I'm only getting 64 for my top speed. The Stratos with the 200 E-TECH I had previously would run 70 plus. Thanks

Are you hitting the rev limiter? I would think you could run a 23 or 24, maybe a 25 but I am not at all familiar with the 4 strokes...

I bet you have one heck of a hole shot with a 21" pitch, though! When you report a boat performance issue, it's just babble until you also tell us the LOAD and the RPM, for starters. Engine height could also be an issue, but in your case, the 21" jumps out right away.
Do you know your engines max. operating RPM specification? That's the point you want to be at when running full throttle, no more, no less.

Yes it comes out of the hole great but I'll need to check the RPM'S, that's with a full tank of gas and two people. Thought I should get around 68 with it, though, thanks for your thought's.

Ran this morning with a half a tank of gas and was by myself and it was calm. Running a 12 x 21 Tempest Plus and it only run 62 W.O.T. AT 5700 RPM'S. Should have kept my Stratos. I'm trying to find my manual about what this Mercury RPM max is.

Look at the barrel on the prop it will be stamped on it not on motor.

Look at the barrel on your prop for the pitch.

It's 21 on the prop also. Talked to a guy at TBW yesterday and he said I needed to lower my engine one inch and then go from there.

A good starting point is normally prop shaft at 3 1/2'' below pad. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/07/full-47849-60857-unnamed.jpg)

You need a 23-24" Fury or Tempest, 21" is too small. Rigged right it should hit upper 60's in this heat and nudge 70 in cooler weather running solo.
