Please, Im working in Galveston through mid Sept. at UTMB. Im looking for some surf or bay fishing access recommendations. I havnt been here since I was a kid and its so developed I have no idea where to begin looking for fishable public surf or bay fishing access. Please help a health care worker in need!Thank you in advance. Craig.

Where are you staying? One of my favorite spots to wade is in the bay to the north and east of the SLP. But that is really mostly because I'm staying somewhere near Jamaica Beach. If you are driving down from Houston I think you'll likely pass a dozen other spots as good or better before you got to that one.

Wadde fish around Big Reef or the South Jetty in the surf. If your staying there stick to evenings during the week. Its getting crowded on weekends.
