Guys I was taking my son to Canada for some fish catching and quality 1 on 1 time but Corona looks like it’s going to put the nail in that coffin. He’s a total bass junkie like his dad and asked that we just go fish somewhere new so I thought about the great state of Texas. We live in OKC so not too far, he wants to try Caddo or Fork but I thought I’d ask for suggestions as well. Where can we catch numbers plus have a chance at quality? Also if you suggest something and know of good clean lodging please give me those details as well. Thx in advance gents! Danny

I agree probably Rayburn. I'd highly recommend getting a guide early in the trip. Learning a pattern early on could make the rest of the week a million times better. Big intimidating lake, not always easy to pick apart if you've never been on it.

Rayburn is a great choice....that being said, for my $ it's Fork. Good deep patterns going on and you can still catch em shallow... tons of great places to stay and it's FORK!!
I was there last week and did some night fishing...caught a new PB...12lber!!
Big Sam and Toledo kick out big fish, too...but, Fork is the deal!

Do you have to have a TX and LA license to fish both sides of Caddo?

I fish Fork 2-3 times a week and would still recommend Rayburn for a week. Like was mentioned get a guide, Ybarbo, Tommy Martin if available, or Rheem. Lakeview Motel on 147 has tackle, burgers, decent rooms for around $70. Across the road from Cassels Boykin, near Needmore Tackle, great fishing right there.
Another nice option is Cypress Springs, you can fish Fork and Sandlin close by, but at Cypress you will definitely catch numbers, of spots, but tons of fish. Clean lake, nice camping, possibly stay at the Lucky Lure. Ask for one of their remodeled trailers. Lucky Lure is on Sandlin but Sandlin is 10 minutes from Cypress and a really good lake for numbers also.

Do you have to have a TX and LA license to fish both sides of Caddo? No. You just need one or the other. Its a reciprical waterway.

Caddo... some good places to stay and it is a natural wonder the likes you wont find many places in the world!
Other options are to stay somewhere in the middle of the action and hit three great lakes in one trip!
Fork; Athens; Palestine Bob Sandlin; Welsh; Pines "Wood County Lakes".

You could do a split trip. Falcon and Amistad. The numbers and some size in Amistad, but better chance at a giant on Falcon. Maybe do 2 on one, 3 on the other.
