Well all my pepper plants have Died Had a little stash of Wild Piquín seeds, germinated them in a clear McDonald's cup with organic soil sprinkled on top like in the wild. Just covered with a ziploc bag till they sprouted Kept in a shady spot of course Probably got about 25% too germinate, keeping them under the kids trampoline till they get bigger 🙏❤🙏
I'd Tack That!!

Hate that for you .
What strains were you trying ? Might be a case of not enough light /water . Tropicals can be a pita .

If you're growing them in plastic containers that might be the problem . Plastic holds water well but the plant's roots can get really hot . Try ceramic pots next time . The clay allows evaporation so the roots stay cooler .

I have had the same problem. Ordered seed, planted them in Styrofoam cup and about half germinated just before I totally gave up. They were very wimpy and never thrived and finally died. Would like to have a couple of plants for ornamentals and some flavoring. Next time I'm in South Texas, I am going to see if I can find plants in nursery. I had assumed they would be very hardy but I guess not, at least initially.

I've got 2 wild ones in a pot that have just started blooming. Cold snaps set them back a little this year.
