Heard from my friend that this yearling is in the growth stage prior to the winter hibernation. Next spring it will leave Mama and go out on its own.

So yeah, it looks scrawny now 'cause it's stretching - kinda like your 12-year old you have to buy pants for every other month.

But the bear will leave . . . . . . . . . it's hard to get rid of a teenager.

Seen that happen at Sugarite Canyon in New Mexico while I was deer hunting. I had many shots on the mountain lion because it was focused on the deer but I didn't have a license. I was taking to the local GW a few days after and he stated that I should shoot everyone I see.
