Has anyone fished it recently? We are taking a few days there next week and having never been just wondering if anyone had any info. Is it a dangerous lake to run?

Haven’t been on it in a few weeks so I can’t speak for fishing but it’s not too dangerous to run. Lower end pretty open. There is a shallow hump on the lower end by the damn but it has a pole marking it. Above the bridge on the upper end is a no go on plane for me. Idle only above the bridge unless you know EXACTLY where to go. Otherwise the boat lanes are marked pretty well. This lake is a hidden gem. Grew up on it and I fish it 8-10 times a year. Lots of good fish but they can be very temperamental.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways with a fishing rod in one hand, 10# LMB in the other, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and yelling "Wow! What a Ride!

They have killed all the reeds and other grass on the lake. It’s not near as good as she once was. U still can catch fish on it but not like 5 years ago. Great Lake to have fun on. North of bridge super sketchy shallow stumpy

They had the giant Silvana or whatever it's called.
I think eradicating that did in all of it?

Same old same old TPWD can't figure out how to take care of lakes with grass in it. Lake has some legit big bass genes but can't get any TPWD help.

I think eradicating that did in all of it? There is a big difference between Giant Salvinia and "grass". Giant Salvinia bad, grass good. From what I understand, a lot of effort was put into making Lake Murvaul a "big bass" lake. There are a lot of houses along the lake. Are there any triploid carp in the lake now?
