Went kayak fishing on Lake Texoma near Preston point.
Fished afternoon/evening on Thursday all along shore and out to about 20 ft.
Tried rooster tail, jointed xrap, strike king and power bait paddle tail swim baits on flashy swimmer hooks.
Managed one small striper on 3' strike king rage swimmer.
Started before sunrise on Friday and same things but put out an umbrella rig with strike king and power bait paddle tail swimbaits and money minnows later adding a rooster tail.
Worked from about 10-40'.
Also was throwing topwater anyplace I heard a fish splash although I am pretty sure they were mostly carp surfacing.
Also put out a deep diving tail dancer crankbait to get down to where I could see fish.
Finally caught one small striper on 3" rage swimmer.
Would see several guide boats come to the area throughout the day, maybe stop for a few minutes and move on. Guessing they were not having much luck there also.
Eventually switch over to fly rod with sink tip line and clouser followed by about size 12 green wooly bugger and worked the rocks along the shore line.
Managed to hook into a nice carp which came out of the water like a dolphin twice before I lost it. Believe it hit the wooly bugger.
Eventually switched to a bead head flash zonker and worked edge of where rock ledge drops off. Managed one smallmouth 11-12"
I was so tired by late afternoon barely made it through dinner before I fell asleep.
Saturday morning spent a little time working the rock ledge with my fly rod but no bites.
There were a lot of carp surfacing in the area and a few times they were laying right next to the shore in about 4-6 inches of water.
Except for storm which came through late Thursday night, the winds were very mild, probably the calmest I have seen the lake overall.
Brutally hot, but good to be out on the water on scenic Lake Texoma.
