I was thinking about running out to Lake Grapevine today to fish for some Largemouth. I know the water has been high, Anybody know how the fishing has been?

Fishing has been good...it's the pleasure boat traffic that will make you think twice about going out.

The ramp near the Gaylord wasn't bad last weekend...but the others are rumored to be absolute chaos.

Thanks for the information. Yes the pleasure boats make it interesting. I have been out a few times since I originally posted. I took a four foot roller over the bow of my 18 foot Tracker from wake board boats a couple times. I thought I was on the North Shore of Oahu in the the winter. It is probably best to go early. I think Covid 19 has everyone on the lakes. I have been fishing Grapevine on a regular basis for about four years. Had a lot of good fishing all along the north shore on the main lake form the dam to rocky point this time of year. Caught some nice Largemouth and Smallmouth over the years. I am finding it much slower this year. I usually fish in the late afternoon early evening. Maybe all of the water level fluctuations changed things up this year. Are other parts of the lake fishing better?
