This will probably ruffle feathers but now that tournaments are trying to catch up and temperatures are rising, I’ve seen a bunch of pictures of the ol golden eye,.... I wonder how many floaters are at the ramps after weigh in..... fire up the grease!

It's a fact of tourney life. Grin and bear it.

Bag of ice in each livewell and you won't have that problem.

Treat with something to take hard metals out since the ice may have metals in it. I heard some will fill a few 2 liter bottles with lake water and feeeze that the night before to put on livewells. As long as it never leaks or gets opened - I guess it doesn’t have to be lake water. Ice and tap water have the hard metals in it.

I almost mentioned this last night to you when we were talking about Choke. The little bass club that launched at South Shore had 5 floaters, obviously dumped dead. Kinda irritated me that they didn’t give them to someone at the cleaning station, instead of just wasting them.

I see more dead post spawn with the evening tournaments. Seems many of the big girls just die if caught right after they spawn.

Amateur tournament fisherman are comic relief for many. Leave them be, somebody has to support the jersey makers.

Ice & additive recirculated will do wonders.

It's not the "hard metals" (whatever those are), it's the chlorine that's used to treat tap water and ice machine water. Fish can't tolerate chlorine. As far as so-called "hard metals" or heavy metals like mercury or lead, there are probably more of those in lake water than in tap water (unless you live in Michigan)

Before blast-off, Fill your livewells with water, 2 bags of ice, and some G-juice. Just recirculate that water all day and you'll be good. Add a little bit of ice throughout the day. I've never had any issues in the summer.

Pure oxygen from a small bottle and a ceramic diffuser stone. We exchanged ours this weekend for Texas Team Trail on Rayburn. Only cost $19 for the exchange. Cheap cost compared to losing a fish that could cost you a check. It pays for itself in one summer tournament. Add ice early and throughout the day from a small cooler and adequate catch and release. Learn to fizz and get/make fin clips. You'll never lose a fish

We just freeze a bunch of empty water bottles with lake water during practice. Add a little catch and release to each one. We put one in the livewell atleast once an hour. Usually 9-10 for the day
