I just had this question cross my mind today and a few friends and I were throwing out solutions. Want to see if anyone else has any ideas.

Anyone have any idea how to charge the batteries for the trolling motor if the boat is being stored not near a power outlet? A portable charging solution that is basically similar to leaving the boat plugged in to the wall in between uses. Something that would be quieter than a generator and more efficient than a solar panel.

Not practical. If stored on property you can "alter" and will be secure, a small wind generator is the only "between" - but that would cost a fortune. If this is a rarely used boat, take the batteries home. If used very frequently, use AGM battery technology (which has a long shelf life in stored state), and charge the batteries after use, but before you put it back into storage.

For less than a wind generator would cost, you can buy Lithium (for the light weight, sealed case, and fantastic charge-hold) and take them out of the boat and take them home every time. That "in between" you are asking for does not exist.
