Start writing or emailing your game wardens and state politicians. It is out of control and dangerous. The amount of drunk boaters operating also is crazy as well...

It's not the wakeboard boats that are the older models. Us fisherman have been dealing with them for a long time, now. It's the newly designed wake boats that specifically are made for the "surfers". They hold ungodly amounts of water in their ballasts and they create just that much bigger of a wake while plowing and letting the person "surf". If you wanna surf, get yo azz to the ocean. Bass boats going 70+mph will not even leave a noticeable wake.

Like most here, I hate them with a passion! I also do not think it is just the idiot drivers of wake boats that cause a problem. It is the design of the boat itself that is the problem. My son made the mistake of taking our boat out to Conroe a few weeks ago with a couple of friends. Trying to get back to the ramp, three wake boats came by together creating a MONSTER wake. He was traveling slow with the bow up, but there was no avoiding spearing the next wake. He said there was instantly water from bot to stern and 4" in the floor. It also dang near ripped my graphs off the bow, which cost me $800 in fiberglass repair. This is a Bass Boat Technologies mount and in addition to tearing up the fiberglass, the wake bent the 1/4" aluminum mounting plate.

THIS ^^

A new tree falls in the river above Granbury once a month, it seems like. Someone is going to get hurt down there soon too, I'm afraid. Mastercraft ran in to a CC not too long ago. Turned a kayak over also.

I fish during the week at Wford, EM, Granbury. They're out in droves in the evenings after work. Mostly kids with dads money.

I donโ€™t like them either, also understand they have a right to the water as well. I just wish they would ticket the ones that pull people 40 yards along the shoreline here at CC. Mostly dads pulling kids and letting mom look at the houses. Then they wave big as youโ€™re fishing a dock thinking theyโ€™re being courteous by waving.

I live on Eagle Mountain, main lake, Azle side.
The worst part is the "BOOM", "BOOM" music from inconsiderate morons that think I want to listen to their music.,
Next is the idiot in his "Cigarette" boat that thinks the lake is his drag strip 3 or 4 nights a week.
Then there is the guy with the float plane doing takeoffs & landings.
Not to mention that at least half the docks do not have lights on them @ night along with 1/2 of the boats @ night.
Then all of the Kayaks on the lake with the guy wearing a green shirt & you can't see him, while dodging the 8' wakes coming from 27 different directions
I sure miss the lake being 10 foot low. it was a lot more peaceful then

Anyone want to buy a house on Eagle Mountain????

Easy lake living sucks

That sucks big time! Conroe is out of control, it's gotten bad on the weekdays also though it's nothing like the weekends. I have had two wakeboard boats come by me in the last week well within casting distance. There's just no excuse, especially on a weekday when it's not terribly crowded.

He really shouldn't have been out there with the insane boat traffic the past couple of months. You really need to be off the water by 10-11 and let them have it. Its just too dangerous.

We have been hanging on the sandbar near our neighborhood ramp and even with the boats anchored in front, bow facing channel and another rope tied into the bank, 2 of these come by and at least a couple get anchors knocked loose and come unanchored. If I ever have to spear one and have damage, I will be following his azz back to the ramp and calling police to make a report for my insurance and I got an old paid for battle wagon. May not stick in court but someone sooner or later will win a case based on wake responsibility. Its obviously not enforced anywhere in TX from the posts above.

Here in San Angelo we don't have much recreational traffic on Twin Buttes, OC Fisher, EV Spence or OH Ivie. Seems everyone with a wakebaord boat and jet flee within 150 miles goes to Lake Nasworthy. That lake it downright dangerous with the traffic on weekends so where does the tournament directors pick for our next club tourny, Nasworthy. About the dumbest decision ever and seems a lot of club member said they aren't fishing it, me included.

They are driving boats designed to create the largest wake possible. We all have to experience those wakes, not just the people boarding and surfing behind them. That's the problem. Their experience becomes our experience.
